The Human Resources Professional plays a critical role in sustaining this culture while ensuring strong HR systems, compliance, and organizational effectiveness. As the sole HR professional within the organization, this role requires a highly capable individual who can operate both strategically and operationally, managing the full spectrum of HR responsibilities independently.

The right person would have experience with the following duties:

Plan, develop, implement and evaluate human resources and labour relations strategies including policies, programs and procedures to address human resource requirements at our business
Assist managers with scheduling and organizing work force planning to support operational requirements
Advise employers and employees on the interpretation of human resources policies, compensation and benefit programs
Provide support to existing staff about HR practices and gentle teaching culture for optimizing performance
Research and prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions, competency appraisal measures and systems
Plan and administer staffing, total compensation, training and career development, employee assistance, employment equity and affirmative action programs
Arrange, facilitate and track the participation of staff through organized courses that the person will be leading
Manage programs and maintain human resources information and related records systems
Hire and oversee training of staff
Evaluate employee performance and amend appraisal programs
File and keep track of benefits as well as employee records
Research employee benefit and health and safety practices as well as recommend changes or modifications to existing policies

Job requirements

A university degree in Human resources or a combination of degree plus completion of a professional development program in human resources
Must have 5 years of Human Resource experience
Willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays as well as on call 24 hours
Great attitude
Attention to detail and organized
Dedicated to the concepts of Gentle Teaching
Strong communicator
Drivers licence is required
